TYNEDALE ACADEMY OF PERFORMING ARTS

(TAPA)

SUMMER SCHOOL 2010

Monday 26th to Friday 30th July

&

Monday 2nd to 6th August

So what is TAPA?

TAPA has been operating as a weekend theatre school, based in Hexham for over 5 years. We run Saturday workshops for young people aged from 5 to 18 years who are interested in performance. We stage 2 full shows a year at the Queen's Hall in Hexham and operate as an examination centre for Trinity Guildhall assessments in Musical Theatre, Performance Arts and ATCL (teacher training in Theatre Arts and Performance).

The time of your life! We pride ourselves in giving students in our care a quality experience, which is why our numbers have not dropped below a hundred since the weekend we opened in January 2004. Over sixty of our students have been with us since day one, returning this year to celebrate our sixth year in Hexham.

The Summer School - open to everyone, not just members of TAPA

Our holiday workshops will be held during the schools' summer holiday in 2010. They will last for 5 days each week and will be running for 2 consecutive weeks. Each workshop is complete in itself so you can attend one or both. At the end of each week we will be staging a performance so you can invite family and friends to see what you have been up to!

The workshops will include sessions of singing, dancing and acting plus rehearsals for the end of week performance. Everyone will get a part to suit them. There will be additional options in theatrical make-up, set design, prop making and an introduction to grade assessments in Musical Theatre and Performance Arts for anyone who is interested.

The workshops are for young people between the ages of 5 and 18 years and are open to everyone whether they are a TAPA student or not. It really doesn't matter if you have had no experience of performance at all, just come along and give it a go.

The price for a week is £165 for the first child and £90.00 for brothers and sisters; or to put it another way £5.50 an hour for the first child and £3.00 an hour for brothers and sisters. Amazing value for quality training.
